It's essentially a British version of Degrassi but SO. MUCH. BETTER.
It's better because the Brits don't have stuffy Christian men in business suits censoring what goes on the television. Which means they can say "fuck" as many times as they want and show vaginas and buy 3 ounces of spliff (British for weed!) from a guy with a seriously glorious mustache.
Each episode is told from the point of view of a different character. In the first episode alone they buy and do drugs, crash a house party, set up the "dorky" character to lose his virginity, delve into the psyche of an anorexic girl, crash a car into the harbor and cope with a near-suicide attempt.
And you thought Degrassi was dramatic.
So if you want to relive your high school years through a British lens, I highly recommend Skins. Also, the main guy character is sosososo hot and makes up for the fact that sometimes, due to the British slang, you kind of can't understand them.
